I thought that I’d write this blog post because I used to be one of those girls who loved/ obsessed over horses and I still haven’t really grown out of looking longingly at those Instagram accounts of girls with their matchy, matchy riding outfits and pony accessories… sigh.
Equestrian merchandise really has come a long way since the late 80s /early 90s, when I used to circle with a highlighter what I wanted out of the Robinson’s equestrian catalogue. The best I could usually hope for, were a pair of dodgy rubber reins to match my saddle cloth and brushes! I think I went for the colour red a lot, constrained by what was available at the time 🤷🏻♀️
Today there are an abundance of options, but since starting my Rock Star Rocking Horse Etsy shop, I try wherever possible to support smaller businesses.
I am finding more and more that people delight in purchasing unique gifts; gifts that have taken some thought and are often bespoke for a certain individual.
Writing this post has given me the perfect excuse to peruse the pages of Etsy and gather together a selection of gifts that I would have loved as a girl… In fact if I’m honest, I’d probably still love them as an adult 🙋🏻♀️ (hopefully my husband reads this post).
If you click the picture it should take you to the listing.
First up is this beautifully delicate personalised horse shoe necklace.
There are a super collection of personalised prints available one Etsy; you can either download them and print them yourself or order the actual print itself. This is an example of something I would have definitely hung in my bedroom as a girl.
As a teenager, my arms were adorned with so many friendship bracelets and this one would have been a favourite! A definite stocking filler for your horse mad offspring 😁
This gift set would be a great one for the grandparents to buy! A pony fiction novel to get lost in, a bookmark, colouring books, pens, and a pair of riding socks! 🤩
Another stocking filler… When ponies and manicures combine 💅 🐴
Personally I would love this one ☝️ …A pattern to crochet my own super cute horse blanket!
Cute horse scrunchies to wear at the stables! Keep the hair out of your face as you clean the stables whilst also looking adorable🥰
Last but not least, obviously you are going to need a crochet version of your favourite horse to put on your bedside table 😍
Thanks for reading 😁👋
